Gameli Appiah, TOC Engineer 1, Enterprise Services

Hail to the Redskins! Hail Victory! Braves on the Warpath! Fight for old D.C.!

Gameli (pronounced GAHM-lee) has joined the Technical Operations Center as an engineer after several years in the UPS Data Center as a network operations control technician. Before that he was a supervisor for aircraft loading operations.

Gameli has a degree in Network Management from Devry Institute. Originally from Arlington, VA, he fell in love with Atlanta during a visit while in the Navy.

A football fan, Gameli is an avid supporter of the Washington Redskins.

Eddie Feliciano, Lead Application Developer Analyst, Enterprise Applications

If your saltwater fishy is sick, give Eddie a call!

Eddie was brought to Emory to work on Hyland Onbase (a document management system that uses workflow processing). He is perfectly suited for this task as he worked for the maker of Onbase, Hyland Software, for 9 years doing Onbase implementations. Before that he worked at Rockwell Automation as a C++ programmer in their software testing department.

A graduate of Cleveland State in Information System Technology, Eddie is originally from Cleveland. He moved to Atlanta seven years ago.

Eddie and his parents own a flower shop. Located in Lawrenceville, Flowerama is a fantastic place to buy something pretty for a loved one! For fun, Eddie is a saltwater tank enthusiast and likes hiking, biking, and rockclimbing.

Sharon Gray, Research Informatics Analyst, R-WIT

Sharon loves her new job with Emory!

Sharon comes to Emory as a Research Informatics Analyst for R-WIT. She has already begun writing business requirements. She is working on the Environmental Health and Safety Office (EHSO) project and Emory Research Management System (ERMS).

Prior to Emory she was a telecommunications business analyst at AT&T. She also worked at Loral Aerospace (now Lockheed Martin) in Houston, TX as a NASA subcontractor. She graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in electrical engineering.

Sharon is married with three children. She says she is fully absorbed in motherhood and loves participating in school functions and her children's sporting events. She is very excited to be at Emory and feels that the transition has been a real blessing.

Naiqi Li, Database Administrator, Infrastructure

If you know a bookstore with good coffee, Naiqi will be there!

Naiqi (pronounced nai-CHEE) is currently on working Oracle databases and Blackboard as an Oracle database administrator (DBA). She comes to Emory from Xerox, where she worked for six years as a DBA. Before that she performed the same job with Lincoln Financial Groups in Chicago.

She went SUNY at Buffalo and got a degree in theoretical chemistry.

Naiqi is married with two lovely children. She says that with little children she doesn't have any free time. She loves reading, especially at bookstores with coffee. In fact, she takes her kids to a bookstore every week.

Laura Mitchell, Manager, R-WIT

Wicki knows a thing or two about RC helicopters.

Laura was recently promoted from being a project manager for the School of Medicine to manager of Business Analysts in R-WIT. She has been at Emory for about 18 months. Prior to coming to Emory, "Wicki", as she is affectionately known, was a project manager for the Weather Channel, mainly working with their website, weather.com.

Wicki got a degree in Foreign Affairs at the University of Virginia and she also took coursework for a teaching certification at Oglethorpe University

She is involved in the Atlanta Radio Control Club (remote control helicopter and airplanes) and she enjoys that pastime with her husband.

Kristian Serrano, Web Developer, R-WIT

Kristian loves playing with his kids.

Kristian has joined the R-WIT web team as a web developer. He will help with the many Cascade projects currently in the queue.

Before coming to Emory, Kristian worked for Georgia State, where he managed the web portal. Prior to that he was at the University of Florida in Continuing Education as a communications coordinator. While at Florida he also carried the title of "IT Expert", where he performed student support, web development, and technical writing.

Kristian has a bachelor of science in public relations from Florida. Born in New York, he grew up in Ft. Lauderdale and also spent many years living in Gainesville, FL. Married with two kids, Kristian's favorite pastime is being a full-time dad!
